“Digitales Zentralbanknengeld als interdisziplinäre Herausforderung”
Despite the continued popularity of cash, digital payment methods are becoming increasingly widespread. At the same time, the ECB is planning to introduce the “digital euro,” a new form of digital central bank money. This lecture gives an overview of the various digital forms of money from a legal perspective and discusses the introduction of the digital euro. It centers on the interdisciplinary dimension of the topic, with particular emphasis on the interplay between the legal questions of digital central bank money and economic, technological, societal and political aspects.
